Dovetail joints are a sign of a true craftsman. Noted for their resilience to pull apart, these finger-like joints between two pieces of wood enable a tight, strong, and long lasting fit.

The course is designed for want to be makers either starting from scratch or wishing to improve their woodworking skills. This four week evening course will teach you the fundamentals of woodwork and give you an opportunity to use classic hand tools.

The course content involves selection set up and sharpening of hand tools, use of hand and measuring tools, chiselling and planing techniques, timber selection and identification and an understanding of the basic joints used in joinery and furniture Making.

You will make a bookend. The finished project will be yours to take home.

All tools, materials & equipment are supplied.
